After we conduct our summer deer surveys, we decide the
number of trophy bucks we will attempt to harvest each fall. We will only
offer a limited number of these hunts to avoid over harvesting this age
class, assuring ample supplies for future hunting seasons. This ranch
lends itself perfectly to hunting these elusive old bucks. With all the
hills, valleys and long views, spot and stalk hunting works well. When the
rut is going strong, rattling is very effective in our terrain. We also
hunt from spacious, comfortable ground and tower blinds. Your guide will
do whatever it takes to get you your trophy. These trophy hunts are
scheduled to coincide with the best parts of the rut and moon phases.
As an integral part of our management plan, all animals
harvested on Cypress Creek Ranch will meet our strict age standards as
stipulated by your guide. He will allow you to shoot only those animals
that are 5½ years old or older. This may require passing on excellent
bucks that we feel are too young to harvest.

Doe and Cull Hunts:
These hunts are another phase of our management plan
where we remove excess does and inferior bucks from our herd. Again, your
guide will determine if the animal meets our requirements for harvest,
when added as part of a Trophy or Management Hunt. |
